INTs in Dorset are multidisciplinary teams formed around ‘natural’ communities—areas that residents identify with, such as towns or villages.
These teams include professionals from:
- General practice (GPs, nurses, care coordinators)
- Community and mental health services
- Social care and housing
- Voluntary, community, and social enterprise (VCSE) organisations
- Pharmacists, dentists, optometrists
- Local businesses and public health teams
The aim is to provide comprehensive, person-centred care that is responsive to the unique needs of each community .
Bournemouth East Collaborative Primary Care Network’s two main focus areas for this work is Mental Health/Addiction and Housebound/Complex care.
We will be working with Primary & secondary care, as well as local government and community services to enhance working relationships and streamline processes were possible throughout the system, improving patient journey and outcomes.
Integrated Neighbourhood Teams in Dorset represent a forward-thinking approach to healthcare that prioritizes community engagement, holistic care, and collaborative practice.
By focusing on the specific needs of local populations and fostering strong partnerships across sectors, Dorset aims to create a sustainable and equitable health and care system for all its residents.
